Hailing Hackney Microblading Artist

I have been Microblading for 4 years now and it is my favourite treatment to do. I find great satisfaction in transforming a face! I am a perfectionist and take great pride in creating something that you will wear on your face for years to come.

I trained in London with the amazing Everlasting Brows and then have since taken further training to learn new techniques and skills.

If you are interested in this treatment, why not book in for a free consultation. It’s a 30 minute appointment whereby I will discuss the procedure in more detail, check your brows, skin type, discuss medical information etc. I will also perform a skin test.

Should you decide to proceed with the treatment, a non refundable or transferable £50 deposit is taken. The balance is then split between your first and top up sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions...

What is Microblading?

Microblading is where a sterile and disposable hand tool is dipped into a cosmetic pigment and used to create hair strokes by making fine, superficial incisions into the top layers of the skin to replicate brow hair.

It's important for clients to understand that this is low maintenance procedure, not a no maintenance procedure. You may still need to add powder / make-up to them once healed. This is especially true for those with little hair or a thin, dense strip of hair. Although colour is added to even up the shape, once healed, some areas may always look slightly darker where your natural hair is depending on the thickness/ colour of the hair.

What is the difference between all the different styles?

Hair Stroke
Hair stroke brows mimicking your natural eyebrow hair for a subtle enhancement.

Blade & Shade
Hair stroke brows with added machine shading for  a little extra fullness.

Combination
Strokes at the head of the brow before fading into a soft powder. Can be as bold or as soft as you like.

Powder
A fully covered brow with no hair strokes, perfect for those clients who want a makeup look and don’t want to draw their brows on every day. Can be as bold or as soft as you like. Ideal for those with oily skin types.

How long does it last?

On average, it can last up to 18 months, however for some people it can be less and for others, much longer. To keep brows looking their best, top-ups are required. This is because as the skin cells regenerate, the pigment breaks down and comes forward to the surface and buffs out of the skin. Depending on which layer of the skin the pigment entered means that some pigment may remain in the skin indefinitely.

It also depends on your skin type (normal, oily, dry) or your age (youthful/mature).

Your skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment: if you tan, use products containing AHA or Glycolic Acid then your brows will fade quicker as your skin will resurface faster.

Does it hurt?

Pain is very minimal but it does vary person to person. I use a strong topical anaesthetic which is normally left on the skin for approximately 10-15 minutes to ensure you are nice and numb. Once I have done the first pass I then use a second anaesthetic in gel form which numbs even deeper before I repeat the process with more pigment.

What if I don't have much brow hair?

It doesn't matter if you have zero brow hair or full, bushy brows, microblading is for everyone. Some people choose to have it to define a shape, some have it to save time and some have it to fill gaps. Whatever your natural brows are like, I can work with them. I have microbladed clients with alopecia, clients who have lost brow hairs due to chemotherapy and clients with big, fluffy brows that just want them more defined.

How is the shape determined?

Each clients face is completely different. I use a string covered in ink to map out where your 'ideal' brow sits. This is based on where your nose, browbone and eyes are. I then draw on a big, black outline, which can look a little scary, however, be rest assured that I always work within that frame. As the brows heal, they tend to shrink back a little. The colour also lightens.

Do you remove any brow hair?

The only hair that is removed is hair that falls outside of the mapped shape. I do this by using a razor to shave it away. I do not wax or pluck them out as I don't want any pigment to sink into the hair follicle and leave you with teeny brown dots!

Is it permanent?

Although microblading is classed as semi permanent, I feel it should be classed as permanent. This is because there is a chance that some pigment will remain indefinitely in the skin.

Depending on how the skin heals, hair strokes over time can blur and you may need to switch to a powder style brow in the future.

How long does it take?

Please allow 2 hours for your first session. The 6 week top up appointment only takes approximately 30 minutes but please allow 1 hour.

What is a colour boost / top-up?

This is your future maintenance. When your brows have faded and you want the colour boosted, I will go back over the original strokes and implant more colour, which will last for another 6 - 12 months (on average).

You must have at least 50% of your previous work remaining for it to be considered a top-up. If your brows have completely disappeared, a new set will be charged for.

This is just the one session, which will last around 1.5-2 hours. Please note that you can only book a colour boost if I have created you original brows. For corrective work, please contact me and send me pictures of the work you have had done previously.

Colour boosts are available for EXISTING CLIENTS ONLY

Please also note that some people may require an extra top-up, which is charged at £50 and must be scheduled within 6-12 weeks from the date of your colour boost.

Depending on how your brows have healed over time. you may need to switch to a powder style brow in the future.

What happens at the first appointment?

Your first appointment with me will take around 2 hours. When you arrive for your first session, I will apply a numbing cream. This is done by using a topical anaesthetic, which is applied to the skin. This is left to soak into the skin for 10-15 minutes. Whilst the cream is working, I colour match. This is done by painting different colours of pigments onto the skin so that we can see how they look against your skin tone and what matches your natural brow hair best. Once you are happy with the colour, I will then map out your perfect brows. You will then have the opportunity to check the shape and amend if desired before a colour match is done.

I do not start work until you are happy with both the shape and colour selected.

The actual microblading itself only takes approximately 45-60 minutes. It's the mapping that takes the most time. AS these brows will be on your face for a long time, I like to get them as symmetrical as I can!

A second anaesthetic gel will also be applied throughout the procedure which will numb even deeper and reduce swelling.

All first time microblading appointments with me are a two step procedure. You will have your first appointment as outlined above and then you will come back for a touch up 6 weeks after. This is because all clients heal differently. Although you will leave your first appointment with fabulous looking brows, I have no idea how your skin will retain the pigment, therefore, your brows will not be completed until your touch up as I may need to go over the original strokes or add more. In some instances, you may not require a 6 week top-up at all, however, the price remains the same and the  final payment will still need to be taken.

How long does it take to heal?

It will takes anywhere up to 7-14 days for the brows to completely heal and around 4 weeks for the colour to fully set in. The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and colour will appear very dark. This is completely normal. The colour will fade by around 10-20% as they heal. You will notice slight scabbing. Do not pick as this will damage the hair strokes and will remove any colour leaving you with bald spots. After 2 weeks, the colour will have lightened. The true colour will show once the brows are completely healed. If you are having the blade and shade you will notice more scabbing as more surface area is covered.

Is it like a tattoo?

A tattoo is where ink is placed into the deep layers of the dermis. The aim of microblading is to implant the pigment into the lowest level of the epidermis (top, outer layers that sit on top of the dermis) therefore they are not meant to be permanent like a tattoo. Please note though, that all skin types vary and it's possible that pigment will be implanted into the dermis. This means that some pigment may remain indefinitely if the dermis is reached during the procedure.

Electrolysis should not be performed less than 5 days prior to treatment. AHA/Glycolic/Retin A preparations should not be used for 2 weeks prior to treatment. Chemical/Laser treatment should not be performed 6 weeks prior to treatment. Botox or fillers should not be performed 4 weeks before or after your treatment.

Please wear your normal brow make up (if you wear it) to your session. There is no need to wax, tweeze or thread your brows before your visit, as I will do this for you as part of the shaping process. If you do wish to tweeze or wax please do so at least 48 hours before.
